We’ll be USB-C-ing you later, Lightning ports.
Another iPhone event in September has come and gone, making this the 15th iPhone. The new Apple phone has a great camera, a feature for everyone called the “Dynamic Island,” and finally, a USB-C port.
If the new features of Apple’s latest drop are making you second-guess your decision not to upgrade your phone (me too, to be honest), or if you’re not sure when or to what iPhone you should upgrade, don’t worry. We’re going to compare the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 15 so you can make smart shopping decisions.
What’s new with the iPhone 15
First and foremost, we officially have a pink iPhone. For some people, that might be the only reason they need to upgrade, and we respect that.

For everyone else, the iPhone 15 has a lot of other new features. This is in contrast to last year, when we mostly got the iPhone 13 with only small changes.
Let’s start with what hasn’t changed: the basics. You can choose between the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus. The iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 15 Plus has a 6.7-inch screen, just like the iPhone 14. The brightness of the screen has changed. It now goes up to 2,000 nits, which is twice as bright as the iPhone 14. This means that bright sunlight won’t make it as hard to see what’s on your screen.
Now, here are the big changes: With the 15, you won’t have to go Pro to get the Dynamic Island or a 48-megapixel main camera, which is a big step up from the 12-megapixel main camera of the iPhone 14. All of the phone’s features, including these ones, are run by an A16 Bionic chip, which is the same chip that was in the iPhone 14 Pro.
